SGA 2011-2012 Year In Review
Touro SGAVi Levy, MPH, OMS2 – Former SGA VP of Archives
Tuesday, February 07, 2012
I was reminded that the new SGA executive committee was officially taking over when Jen Higa sent out her first bolus email last week. That was on the official transition date of Wed, Feb 1st.. Since then, we've had a massive budget meeting (last Thursday), and today the new SGA board led their first senate meeting! However, both current & former boards are all still working together to make sure the transition is a smooth one. Read more... |

Touro SGADr. Marilyn Hopkins, Provost & COO
Wednesday, December 14, 2011
Touro University California has conducted our commencement ceremonies in The Grove on campus for many years. It is a spectacularly beautiful venue. However weather can be a serious challenge as was the case last year. Shortly following our June 2011 commencement ceremony, I appointed a Taskforce from our Executive Council to search for an in-door venue for future university commencements. Sites all over the Bay Area were considered and visite... Read more... |
Turkey Bowl results
Touro SGADonald Haight
Monday, November 21, 2011
The Ninth Annual Turkey Bowl Tournament was held on Saturday night on the Mare Island Football Field and the results were stunning. First year students walked away as victors in all four games. It's not uncommon for first year students to do well, but to have the second year students lose all 4 games was history-making. Read more... |
Dodgeball tournament outcome
Touro SGADonald Haight
Tuesday, November 15, 2011

What I've learned is that not only is it as physically challenging as some of the more "traditional" sports, but there are clever strategies that can be used to be succes... Read more... |

Passing the Torch
Touro SGAVi Levy, MPH, OMS1 - SGA Historian
Saturday, March 05, 2011
Prior to the sparsely populated February 2nd SGA candidate speeches, the majority of the new SGA board had assembled together with visions of intercollege collaboration and similar goals prior to elections. Their slogan, “many professions, one voice” gave them their election platform name of “One Voice,” a group identity promoted on the web and on posters throughout the halls of campus buildings. Only two positions ran opposed in the onli... Read more... |
