Printing services for Touro students will soon be converted into having half of the total number of printers into color printers and half into black and white printers. The new printers will be delivered tentatively within the next two weeks.

Printers will be installed one room at a time with at least one week’s notice ahead of time to minimize the downtime for students on campus.

The Ninth Annual Turkey Bowl Tournament was held on Saturday night on the Mare Island Football Field and the results were stunning. First year students walked away as victors in all four games. Printing Services at Touro will soon be a 50:50 ratio of black and white and color printers. The proposal submitted by our current printer provider, Scott Technology, has been signed by our Provost, Dr. Marilyn Hopkins. We are now awaiting approval of the contract from Touro New York.

The first Task Force meeting for Student Printing Services occurred on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Those in attendance include Julia Perhac- Director of Information Technology, Jack Madderra- Network Manager, and Rachel Ilagan-SGA VP of Academic Affairs. The issues discussed include the student issues on printing, the need for additional services such as faxing, copying, and additional color printers.

Touro’s new brand image is now on bold display on a billboard on I-80 westbound near the Mason exit. The billboard went up today and will remain up for three months. A second billboard will go up later this month visible from I-80 eastbound just before the junction with highway 37.

The new SGA executive board was officially inducted on Feb. 17 this year. Since then we have moved our office and everything in it from our spot in Wilderman down to the microwave room in Lander (there is a door if you look for it). The Wilderman office is being converted into a conference room.

The long awaited stairway project connecting the upper and lower campuses is no longer a dream. A kick-off meeting was held Friday March 11, 2011 to officially recognize the commencement of this project.
