Mini Med School is the Peds Club's main annual event. Its a week-long event in which we invite children from the local elementary schools to come and learn about OMM, science, and to get a glimpse into what being in medical school might be like. We will have three stations set up - 1) an OMM station where we demonstrate some basic techniques 2) a doctoring station where we let the kids listen through our stethoscopes, explore reflexes with the hammer (they love this), and look through the otoscope at each others eyes. 3) a final science project station where we will mix household items to form a "volcano"
Each school comes on a different day and so this is spread out over a week. The shifts are all only one hour long, lasting from noon until about 1 pm. We will need at least 2 volunteers per station as well as people to hand out gold stars, brain erasers and pencils (yes!), and certificates. In all I need AT LEAST 8 VOLUNTEERS PER DAY. Please please please sign up, and for as many days as you can. Bring a friend. Get easy TOUCH points. Relive your childhood during your lunch break. Have fun :)
Sign up in the below spreadsheet, and don't forget to scroll to the right for the shifts later in the week. If you would like to work a specific station you can put your preference next to your name (ex: OMM, doctoring, volcano) and I will try my best to accommodate you, otherwise just put your name and that's all!
